Comic Book Confidential

Made in 1988, Ron Mann’s classic Comic Book Confidential was way ahead of its time. Mann, a master of documenting alternative cultures, set his sights on the history of the comic book industry—an industry that once was reviled for its violent content or considered too mainstream. Mann sits down with more than 20 of the most significant comic artists and writers in North America (including heavyweights such as Stan Lee, Frank Miller, Harvey Kurtzman and Gary Panter) and examines how our current cultural fabric has quietly been influenced by this warts-and-all alternative art form.
