1966 Batmobile Slot Car authentic, fantastic, incredible!

This is a very cool slot car track!
The legendary 1966 George Barris's Batmobile customized from a 1:32 kit by Polar Lights (Aurora) and turned into a powerful slot car! See it as you've never seen before, running on a Scalextric "Batman-ized" track, even from Batman's seat! Chassis, motor and silicone tires by Slot.it. A fan's tribute to the coolest car ever! POW!

INVISIBLE BAT SYMBOL ONLY SHOWS UP IN THE RAIN
^_^ INVISIBLE BAT SYMBOL ONLY SHOWS UP IN THE RAIN ;) Create a secret message or symbol that will only show up when it rains. You can create any comic book symbol or logo you want. This last a lot longer than you might think. It rained again today 3-26-15 … almost 3 months after I sprayed this … and it is still showing up great! I’ll post a pic I took today in the comments.

WWII-era Canadian comics full of home-grown superheroes!

“Dixon of the Mounted” is one of numerous Canadian comic heroes who thrived during the Second World War.

Behold the raven-haired demi-goddess Nelvana, born of human woman and Koliak, god of the northern lights. With the power of light and heat, Nelvana battles the enemies of Canada’s north and, as alter-ego secret-agent Alana North, she protects us from the perils facing a country at war.
Arriving a few months before Wonder Woman, Nelvana was the first female comics superhero, and rode a wave of Canadian comics known as “Whites” (for their typically black and white interior pages).
Nelvana was born to protect our borders in 1941, in response to the War Exchange Conservation Act (WECA), prohibiting the import of luxury items, including comic books, from the United States. But Nelvana was not alone. Between 1941 and 1946, Canadian kids (and other comic enthusiasts) feasted on the adventures of Johnny Canuck, Canada Jack, Tang the Wonder Horse, Brok Windsor, Dixon of the Mounted and many more.
Now, thanks to a generous gift from an anonymous donor, 119 of these rare and extraordinary works are part of the collection of the Ryerson University Library Special Collections. “It’s the holy grail of Canadian comics,” says Ryerson professor Andrew O’Malley. O’Malley’s current project, “Comic Books, Children’s Culture, and the Crisis of Innocence, 1940-1954,” was awarded an Insight Development Grant by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).

Netflix Daredevil - Street Scene Motion Poster

Marvel’s Daredevil series hits Netflix on April 10th. Leading up to shows releases comes another sweet motion poster promoting everyone’s favorite red suited vigilante dishing out his own version of blind justice.
The latest Daredevil motion poster is more revealing than you think. It shows all the major characters and there are quite a few background details to inspect. Little big things like Avengers Tower, and a reflection that reveals Daredevil’s red suit, or at least a different suit than the black ninja-esque one we’ve seen. Check out the motion poster below and see if you can spot all the small details.

Friday with DARKMAN

I loved this film, and so did a lot of people. It spun off 2 sequels and an un-aired TV pilot.
Here are some fun facts about the original movie.

#Daredevil - New Extended Trailer

A brand-new, extended trailer for Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil series has arrived, with a ton of new footage, revealing new characters alongside the show's dark, gritty action. But what it really does is draw parallels between Daredevil and Kingpin, two men who just want to save their city.

Fan Films that could Teach Hollywood a Lesson

I've seen all of these films, and they're great! The fact that 2 of them are Batman films, is just a bonus!!
Fan films are the ultimate way for devotees to pay tribute to the characters they love. They give fans the chance to show how the beloved heroes (and antiheroes) should be portrayed — without the creativity-sapping “benefit” of focus groups, hack screenwriters and overpaid producers.

A Calgary makeup artist and comic book fan is gaining notoriety for her ability to turn mere mortals into superheroes.
Lianne Moseley, 25, is self-trained and makes her living making-up brides and models but in her free time, she creates comic book and graphic novel characters from scratch.
“My mom sold catalogue cosmetics and right from the start, I just got right into it,” said Moseley. “In high school instead of studying I spent a lot of time practicing and doing friend’s makeup.”
She has been painting faces for two years but the comic style makeup is a recent addition to her skill set.
