Happy B-Day Ben Affleck

15 Characters Matt Damon Could Play In A Batman Movie

Recently, Ben earned surprisingly strong reviews for his turn as a middle-aged Bruce Wayne in the otherwise divisive Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and just last week, he was confirmed as the director of the upcoming solo outing for the Dark Knight. Matt suggested that he’d be open to starring in a comic book superhero film, but only if his BFF Ben Affleck were to direct.

On Thursday, August 4, 2016, a copy of Action Comics #1 with the first appearance of Superman quickly flew past the $750,000 estimate to sell for close to $1 million at Heritage Auctions. As part of their Comics & Comic Art Signature Auction, Heritage sold the 1938 comic, graded 5.5 by CGC, for $956,000. It set a new record for sale of Action Comics #1 at Heritage.
“As the bidding went higher and higher we were grateful bidders recognized this copy as the gem it truly is,” said Lon Allen, Managing Director of Comics & Comic Art at Heritage. “Few copies of this comic survive, let alone come to auction with such a bright cover. It displays beautifully.”
Action Comics #1 was originally sold on comic racks for just 10¢ in June 1938. There are only about 100 copies currently known to exist.
The copy that sold on Thursday was part of a collection that was purchased from a dealer in the 1990s for $26,000. Allen also stated that the copy likely drew intense bidding because it is very attractive for the grade.

I Was Robin's Daughter

It’s Lisa Ward’s birthday today, so we re-present this interview from the cavernous 13th Dimension vault. Happy birthday, Lisa!
What’s your earliest recollection of knowing your dad was Robin the Boy Wonder?Lisa: Probably grade school. He was just Dad to me (who) just happened to be on TV, no big deal. I didn’t pay it much attention then. What I didn’t realize is that once I moved with my mother to a small town in Washington state when I was 6 that the kids in school wouldn’t believe me. That’s when I realized he was a little different than most other fathers.

GENERATION 1 - HERO (fan film)

While Paramount Pictures continues to develop a crap ton of new Transformers sequels and spin-offs, a group of fans got together and made the Transformers movie fans really want to see. As Sploid says, it's better than any of the live action Michael Bay Transformers films thus far, and their obviously tiny budget, homemade costumes, and low-fi VFX are a huge part of the reason the short works as well as it does.

Generation:1 is a fan made live action transformers "costuming" movie
featuring the characters of the original Transformers G1 cartoon series
from the 80's using practical effects and in camera effects.
