How Rare Is a Detective Comics #27?

Great article on just how rare #27 is.

 https://frankiescomics.com/blogs/fcb/how-rare-is-a-detective-comics-27?fbclid=IwAR1bLHR43dZ1KJrxtMl_HBVmPutPZUcGxvJ7fZO9ux1ln0oEGaHd4cFgitM

"CGC has only 72 total DC #27s. Of those, just 35 attained the universal label, meaning it is complete with all the pages and no missing ads. There are only 36 restored copies and one qualified grade listed in the CGC census data, which is a testament to its rarity in any and all categories. "

Most often, it's a photo of Robert Kanigher, who wrote Wonder Woman for about eight million years and who edited and often wrote DC's war comics for a very long time. When Kanigher received a posthumous Bill Finger Award

$1.5 Million !

 https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/first-batman-comic-sells-for-record-1-5-million

This was the most expensive comic ever sold by Heritage Auctions

Artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger's story "The Case of the Chemical Syndicate," published in Detective Comics No. 27, introduced the world to The Dark Knight.

The Detective Comics sale came during the first session of Heritage Auction’s four-day Comics & Comic Art event, which runs through Nov. 22 and features the so-called “Alfred Pennyworth Collection”, a Batman-centric collection from Randy Lawrence; his Batman No. 2, from 1940, sold for $63,000 during the same session.

Vincent Price On Racism And Religious Prejudice

A beautiful message delivered by the late, great Mr. Price at the conclusion of a radio broadcast of 'The Saint'. The episode is "Author Of Murder". From 1947 - 1951, Mr. Price portrayed the radio incarnation of Leslie Charteris' legendary character Simon Templar.

The Most Influential Comic Books

Of course, there's a couple Batman comics on this list, including the famous Detective #27.
Check it out.

The first appearance of Batman delivered an edgy, dark character with a more ominous yin to Superman's yang. Batman helped usher in a more adult approach to comics, one closer to the pulp books and radio shows popular at the time. While the Caped Crusader would occasionally become campy, the shadowy character generally stayed true to Bob Kane's original interpretation.

10 Best Batmobiles

https://www.hotcars.com/10-best-live-action-batmobiles-and-10-other-superhero-cars-that-are-even-cooler/?v=1&utm_source=HC-FB-B&utm_medium=Facebook-Distribution

It’s interesting how the Batmobile always seems to reflect the times: in 1966 it was a muscle car, pure and simple, and a really cool one, too. In the ‘90s, the car became futuristic-looking and explorative, and there were more than a couple misses during that era. And finally, in a time when military action is prevalent all around the world, we have the Tumbler and other bulky Batmobiles from 2005 onwards.
Check out the link for all the Batmobiles!

DC Regrets Showing You The Batawang

Pretty sure you can show vulnerability with showing dick. And,  I don't mean Dick Grayson.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, all future printings of Batman: Damned will now have the penis in question censored out (as it already was in digital issues) after DC decided that the appendage didn’t really add to the series’ plot. While it’s true that revealing Bruce’s dick wasn’t absolutely crucial to drive Batman: Damned’s larger story forward, Bruce being nude does factor into the scene within the comic—a moment when he’s supposed to be at his very most vulnerable.
