Catwoman & Bane, a little history

With the announcement of the villains to appear in DARK KNIGHT RISES made a week or so ago, what better time to give you "non-believers" a brief history lesson.
This guy has done his home work!!!!
I frequently hop on over to The Next Batman Bad Guy blog. He has put together a great history of both CATWOMAN and BANE.
You have to check it out!

Batman Short Film: The Rat

Here is a cool little fan film, done well.
The following is taken from the films YouTube site;

This film initially was made with the good hopes of gaining the attention of the esteemed filmmakers of the most recent Batman film franchise. The actors only hope was to submit themselves for consideration in ANY role that may be required. What began as an audition reel resulted in this promotional piece that all felt ownership in. From the Director to the Writer, to the camera man and PA, we all hope you enjoy, THE RAT. - And Chris Nolan, please give us a call!

Jan 19th, 2011
And Tom Hardy is set to play Bane
Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle (AKA Catwoman) in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. She will be starring alongside Christian Bale, who returns in the title role of Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Christopher Nolan stated, "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story."
In addition, Tom Hardy has been set to play Bane. Nolan said, "I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies."
Nolan will direct the film from a screenplay he wrote with Jonathan Nolan, from a story by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer. Nolan will also produce the film with his longtime producing partner, Emma Thomas, and Charles Roven.
The Dark Knight Rises is slated for release on July 20, 2012.

Captain Marvel and the Lie Detector-Canada-1942

In my quest for Canadian Comics, here's some news about an "exclusive" Captain Marvel comic sold in Canada during WW2

BOOKSTEVE'S LIBRARY: Captain Marvel and the Lie Detector-Canada-1942
Odds are that unless you were in Canada in 1942 or a subscriber to THE BUYERS GUIDE FOR COMICS FANDOM in 1973, you have never seen this CAPTAIN MARVEL story no matter how big a fan you might be of the Big Red Cheese. In the early seventies, around the time DC brought back SHAZAM, TBG began running some old stories in their entirety that DC would never have printed.
Lots more pics of the comic at the link above!!

BATMAN LIVE

BATMAN LIVE
A new LIVE ACTION show that's is premiering in England this year....and hopefully touring the world soon!

It’s a play of sorts, but it’s going to be performed in Britain’s biggest, grandest arenas rather than theatres. There will be acrobatics, pyrotechnics, stuntmen, supervillains and screeching Batmobiles on a 100ft-wide, 60ft-deep performance area. Behind them, a giant video wall will flash panels from comic strips and special effects, and give the appearance of interacting with the live performers on stage.
