(me and Mr.West @ Calgary Expo 2012)
TV’s Batman was originally scheduled to attend C2E2 in Chicago this weekend, but he has had to cancel due to an injury. On their Facebook page, c2E2 posted the following message from Adam West explaining the reason for his cancellation. “I am sad to say that I cannot come to Chicago. My painful excuse is a fractured vertebrae. The doctor said to leave the stunts to the younger guys. Tough on the ego after all these years. And I’m only 39…Have a great time at the show and Batwishes always.” – Adam West

No Eckhart -- AND Two Face -- In THE DARK KNIGHT RISES
BATMAN-ON-FILM.COM - Official: No Eckhart -- AND Two Face -- In THE DARK KNIGHT RISES (12.3.10)
Despite the fact that Harvey Dent -- AND Two Face -- died at the end of THE DARK KNIGHT, many folks continued thinking and hoping that the character would return in BATMAN
3.
It ain't.
Per the man himself -- actor
Aaron Eckhart -- neither he or Dent will be in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. Here's what he told MTV...
"Chris and I had a meeting, on the beach, just the two of us. I said, 'Chris, a lot of people are asking me if I'm in the next BATMAN. And Chris said, 'Yes?' I said, 'Am I?' He looked at me and he said, 'No.' We found ourselves alone on the beach together on a stormy day and he delivered the news to me and I was heartbroken. I was heartbroken. But Chris has his reasons and my life must go on."
AND...... the "word on the street" has pre-production for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES beginning in March of 2011. Filming is said to begin two months later in May.

Comic Book History Display
This a great little piece of comic book history. Check it out. I would love to go to this display and see these things up close.
More than 70 years ago, the very first superheroes debuted in the dire times of the Great Depression and the early years of World War II. Their names became legend -- Superman, Batman (or, as he was then known, the Bat-Man), Wonder Woman, Captain America -- and they're still with us today.
A new exhibit at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles celebrates these icons from the Golden Age of Comic Books. Through a collection of rare original artwork and comics, the exhibit explores how a group of mostly Jewish artists created the costumed heroes who came to symbolize the hopes of a beleaguered nation.
"In the 1930s, the American Dream had become a nightmare, and I think comic books and superheroes in particular provided an escapist form of entertainment that allowed the American public to go into a fantasy world where all the ills of the world were righted by these larger-than-life heroes," says Erin Clancy, a curator at the Skirball. Batman's past, present, future collide
(CNN) -- As everyone but the citizens of Gotham City knows, Batman is Bruce Wayne. But lately, he's been Dick Grayson. And this month, he's also Damian Wayne and Terry McGinnis. Will the real Batman please stand up?
This look at Batman's past, present and future has been brought about by Grant Morrison, the Scottish writer and playwright behind the award-winning "All-Star Superman." Morrison has masterminded a new direction for the character and returns to the 70-year-old "Batman" comic book series with its 700th issue Wednesday.
"I started to do a bunch of research, and I realized that every story had been told," Morrison said. He decided upon a psychological deconstruction of the character that would run over many issues and over two years, beginning with the story arc "Batman & Son" in 2006.

Guillermo del Toro drops out of directing 'The Hobbit'
does this mean he can start working on a new "Hellboy"?
By Mandi Bierly, EW.com
May 31, 2010 2:23 p.m. EDT
"In light of ongoing delays in the setting of a start date for filming 'The Hobbit,' I am faced with the hardest decision of my life," Del Toro said. "After nearly two years of living, breathing and designing a world as rich as Tolkien's Middle Earth, I must, with great regret, take leave from helming these wonderful pictures. I remain grateful to Peter, Fran and Philippa Boyens, New Line and Warner Brothers and to all my crew in New Zealand. I've been privileged to work in one of the greatest countries on earth with some of the best people ever in our craft and my life will be forever changed. The blessings have been plenty, but the mounting pressures of conflicting schedules have overwhelmed the time slot originally allocated for the project. Both as a co-writer and as a director, I wish the production nothing but the very best of luck and I will be first in line to see the finished product. I remain an ally to it and its makers, present and future, and fully support a smooth transition to a new director."

WB To Announce Batman 3 Plans Early Next Year?
WB To Announce Batman 3 Plans Early Next Year?
Batman Begins was released in 2005, we had to wait until 2008 for The Dark Knight. Statistically speaking, we should get a new Batman film in late 2011 (or early 2012) BUT, only if Nola is directing. I don't want to see another Batman film that soon if their is someone else attached as director. If we can't get Nolan back, for whatever reason, than WB shouldn't think about producing another Bat-flick until 2016. (there was 8 years between Batman and Robin and Batman Begins).
