Good Bye Ben

One of the worst-kept secrets in the DC Extended Universe is Ben Affleck's interest in departing the films permanently. A recent report by Variety claims that, while Affleck is expected to appear in the upcoming The Flash film, he will exit the DCEU and a new actor would accept the cowl for the Matt Reeves-directed The Batman.

JL was suppose to have The BatCycle?

Batman had two vehicles in Justice League, the Batmobile and the Flying Fox. However, there was almost a third vehicle. Production designer for Justice League, Patrick Tatopoulos recently shared a couple sketches with the world on Instagram of concepts for the Batbike. I find the design to be very intriguing. It doesn’t have wheels indicating a futuristic hoverbike approach.

JL Review....sorta

http://www.batman-on-film.com/dc-comics-on-film_JUSTICE-LEAGUE_review_byJett_11-15-17.html

I saw JL last night. It was good.......but.........
I hope the DVD/Digital copy is longer/uncut with a ton of deleted scenes in it!
For a comprihensive reivew, check out JETT's musings on Batman-on-film.com I think he sums it up correctly.
THE BOTTOM LINE: Despite a very weak plot, lack of character development, crappy villain, and horrendous CGI, JUSTICE LEAGUE is a safe, somewhat fun, popcorn movie that's frankly forgettable. There’s some really good, some really bad, and A LOT meh of in between. - Bill "Jett" Ramey

Batman's Theme in Justice League

As we know, Danny Elfman has done the music for Justice League. In the clip below, we can hear "Batman's Theme" from the Burton films. Elfman has said before that this IS Batman's Theme so it would appear in this film as well.

Terrible Superhero TV Shows You Completely Forgot About

http://screenrant.com/superhero-tv-shows-you-completely-forgot-about-terrible/

Bring back Manimal!

In the current age of Peak TV, fans of genre television are definitely getting spoiled. Horror fans get Hannibal and American Horror Story, science fiction fans have Westworld and Stranger Things, and fantasy buffs are enjoying Game of Thrones and American Gods.
Fans who have been waiting for great superhero storytelling have an abundance of riches at their disposal, from the various Netflix Marvel offerings to Gotham, Arrow and FX’s Legion.
However, before viewers get too complacent and accustomed to the fantastic offerings at their fingertips, it’s a good idea to remember where superhero storytelling was just a few short years ago. When it began in 2006, NBC’s Heroes seemed like a strong and intelligent series, but by the time it limped into its third and fourth seasons, it was clear that television still hadn’t cracked exactly how to make longform superhero storytelling compelling.

Justice League; Bruce Wayne's Mercedes-Benz: Hard to Resist

http://thebatmanuniverse.net/justice-league-77/

The Batmobile may be iconic, but Bruce Wayne’s daytime transportation is definitely nothing to scoff at. Bruce Wayne’s vehicle is on display in Times Square, but today we learn that Mercedes-Benz has gotten into the superhero game by giving not just Bruce Wayne a sweet ride, but also his Justice League pals in the upcoming movie.

Bruce gets the most love with an AMG Vision Gran Turismo that Chief Design Officer Gordon Wagener describes the perfect vehicle for the Dark Knight, “extreme proportions, sensual contours and intelligently implemented high tech blend to form a breathtaking body and the perfect car for Bruce Wayne.”

Affleck speaks about Justice League

Via an interview (for what, I’m not sure) with EW.COM, Ben Affleck said the following about JUSTICE LEAGUE having two directors…
“[This film is] an interesting product of two directors, both with kind of unique visions, both with really strong takes. I’ve never had that experience before making a movie. I have to say, I really love working with Zack, and I really love the stuff we’ve done with Joss.”

Justice League Re-shoots.....

everything Mr. Morton said is spot-on. The Cyborg character was altered quite a bit during the reshoots. Also, as I’ve been saying since June 2nd of this year, the JL reshoots and the resulting changes being made to the film are significant. These reshoots – which are still taking place – are not standard pick-ups/additional photography. Why? Apparently, an early cut of the film was deemed “unwatchable.” Thus, substantial changes to the film were ordered.

The Flying Fox

The new emphasis on working together is reflected visually by Batman’s niftiest new toy: the Flying Fox, a brutalist plane big enough to hold a whole cinematic universe of super-personalities. “You can put three Batmobiles in the lower part of it,” says production designer Patrick Tatopoulos (Batman v Superman). “I didn’t want to do a sleek airplane; it needed to feel like an extremely avant-garde classic. With the maneuverability of a jet—but it can actually carry things.”

The Neil Gaiman Batman Story That Never Was

http://www.cbr.com/batman-neil-gaiman-simon-bisley/

The period following the release of the 1989 Batman film were crazy, as the graphic novel, Arkham Asylum, by Grant Morrison and Dave McKean, had exploded in sales popularity due to its release in conjunction with the Batman film. DC Comics, naturally, wanted more books like Arkham Asylum to sell.
Therefore, in 1990, they signed a deal with their up-and-coming star writer on Sandman, Neil Gaiman, along with the awesome artist, Simon Bisley, to do a graphic novel in the vein of Arkham Asylum.
Gaiman later recalled: There’s a story that I signed a contract with DC to write called The Night Circus which is all about Batman going to the circus and that was meant to have been a painted book with Simon Bisley many, many years ago. Whether it will happen or not I don’t know, but it would be a lovely story to do.
Gaiman also noted elsewhere back in 1998, “it was started back then, and then Simon signed an exclusive deal with tundra, and the whole thing was forgotten.”

Batman rides a dinosaur in first look at Dark Nights

 IMG_9988
There’s more to this preview than just the (awesome) image of Batman on a T-Rex.  As Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo have promised, there are whole aspects of the DCU we haven’t seen in some time: the Challengers of the Unknown, Red Tornado, the Multiverse map from Multiversity, and more.  Check out this sneak preview of the highly anticipated event where you can see the Justice League engaged in outer space gladiatorial combat, strange symbols in the desert, and yes, Batman riding a dinosaur.

‘Batman: Gotham by Gaslight’ is WB’s next animated movie

An Amazon listing for the upcoming Batman and Harley Quinn 4K Blu-ray has revealed what Warner Bros.’ next animated movie will be, and it’s Batman: Gotham by Gaslight.
“Gotham by Gaslight” is a classic Batman comic that was published in 1989. Here’s a brief description from the Batman News review:
Originally published in 1989, Gotham by Gaslight tells the “What if” story of a 19th century Caped Crusader who comes face to face with the Butcher of Whitechapel. It’s Batman vs. Jack the Ripper written by Brian Augustyn and illustrated by none other than the creator of Hellboy, Mike Mignola.

‘The Batman’ director teases “very emotional” story

Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice
“It’s my hope to tell a very emotional Batman story,” Reeves told Yahoo Movies
“What I love that [Nolan] did was that he took the genre seriously,” Reeves said. “What studios are willing to make at the moment is a very, very narrow band of films. What I discovered is that this genre has the potential to be about something more. You can use the metaphors of the genre to talk about [a lot].

The Bat-Ship?

Batman: The Animated mini-series

It's 25 years since Batman: The Animated Series brought a classic yet modern Dark Knight to the small screen.
Rated as the best adaptation of Batman anywhere outside of comics by IGN and the second-best animated series of all time (after The Simpsons, of course), Batman: The Animated Series appealed to comic-book readers, fans of the recent Tim Burton Batman movies, and new young fans alike

As part of the DC Super Hero Collection license we will produce a new mini-series of figurines and magazines based on the hit 1992 Batman: The Animated Series. The figurines will be presented at 1:16 scale and feature the main characters from the show in classic poses, and sculpted in the unique art style of the show.

Each figurine will be presented in a window box designed packaging to match the recently re-launched DC Super Hero Collection. The figurine will also come with a 12-page magazine that will feature articles and artwork from the Batman: The Animated Series."
Six seemed a good number for a mini-series. Of course, Batman and the Joker had to be included, but who else? Harley Quinn seemed a cert. The character was created for the series long before she made it to the comic books (and eventually the big screen in 2016's Suicide Squad). So, here was the provisional running order...
Classic villain the Penguin had a great look for the show, rotund, finely dressed, with the monocle providing a sophisticated touch. Catwoman's grey all-in-one jumpsuit and whip bore similarities to her contemporary comic-book portrayal, while a sultry Poison Ivy gave the set a satisfying 50/50 male to female ratio.
That was the easy bit. Next up, in two weeks' time, Part 2: Development, the list gets switched, and finding the perfect pose.

Harley Quinn & Batman Prequel Comic

Fans of DC Comics will have more to look forward to than the animated Batman & Harley Quinn movie, now that an accompanying comic series has been revealed. The early film trailers of Batman, Nightwing, and Harley teaming up to save the world showed that the odd extension of Batman: The Animated Series was worth fans’ attention, but it’s only the middle chapter of a much larger, even more promising story coming from DC and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.
We’re pleased to offer the first exclusive details of the new comic book series HARLEY QUINN AND BATMAN, a prequel telling the tale of how our title characters wound up in the spot where the movie begins. Harley Quinn may be pulled out of prison to help the Dark Knight bring down Poison Ivy, but before that, fans will need to see what got her locked up to begin with. And to make the Digital First series every bit as promising as the film, some of the most proven talent in the extended world of Batman: The Animated Series has been recruited.

Justice League get manga makeover for new series in Japan

In Japanese, the word manga can technically be used to refer to all comic books. In practice, though, “manga” is generally reserved for Japanese-produced books, with fans and professionals often using amekomi, a shortened form of “American comics,” for content originating in the U.S. But this month, the line between manga and amekomi is getting blurred with the beginning of a new series titled Batman and the Justice League, drawn by female manga artist Shiori Teshirogi and serialized in publisher Akita Shoten’s monthly Champion Red manga anthology as of its latest issue, which went on sale June 19.
