8,000 Answer Batman Casting Calls

More Than 8,000 Answer Batman Casting Calls | Superhero Hype

Thousands stood in line Downtown on the last day of casting for a new Batman movie, hoping they looked enough like what casting directors need: prisoners, victims, criminals, police officers, businesspeople and sports fans.

About 3,000 extras are needed for the film, said casting director Tammy Smith of Smith & Webster-Davis Casting, a Los Angeles-based company that worked with Lawrenceville-based Nancy Mosser Casting to solicit extras for the film.

During the past two weekends, more than 8,000 people flocked to the casting calls, Smith said.

"I think there has been a very good turnout for this movie that fit the categories that we were looking for," she said.

Extras will fill non-speaking roles for various types of good guys, bad guys and regular men and women, Smith said.
