DC Comics has removed a satanic image from a cover design for Batman And Robin #15.

Drawn by Frank Quitely, the original cover illustration for the book depicted Robin and Dr Hurt in front of an upside-down crucifix.

However, the publisher has removed the background image for the retail version of the comic, which arrived in stores this week. It also shipped with a variant design from interior artist Frazer Irving.

Written by Grant Morrison, the issue serves as the final chapter in the 'Batman Must Die' plotline. The story sees Dick Grayson and Damian Wayne confront Dr Hurt for a final showdown.

Super Friends (2008-2010)
Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam (2008-2010)
Batman: The Brave and the Bold (2009-2010)

This leaves Tiny Titans and the licensed books like Looney Tunes and Scooby-Doo.

Spiderman has friends in high places...

After the British Telegraph printed a list of 50 facts you may not know about Barack Obama -- which included the tidbit that he collects Spiderman and Conan the Barbarian comic books -- the folks at Marvel Comics were prompted to act.

"When we heard that President-Elect Obama is a collector of Spider-Man comics, we knew that these two historic figures had to meet in our comics' Marvel Universe," said Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada. "A Spider-Man fan moving into the Oval Office is an event that must be commemorated in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man."

And next week, a short comic adventure featuring both icons will hit comic book stands.

Robin, Nightwing, Birds of Prey get the axe!?!?!?

DC Comics is getting rid of 3 Batman related titles next year. Robin, Nightwing, and Birds of Prey will have their last issues shipped February 2009. This, combined with the BATMAN R.I.P story line, leads me to believe that DC has something big up their sleeve for 2009 and Gotham City.
