Satanic image removed from DC title

DC Comics has removed a satanic image from a cover design for Batman And Robin #15.

Drawn by Frank Quitely, the original cover illustration for the book depicted Robin and Dr Hurt in front of an upside-down crucifix.

However, the publisher has removed the background image for the retail version of the comic, which arrived in stores this week. It also shipped with a variant design from interior artist Frazer Irving.

Written by Grant Morrison, the issue serves as the final chapter in the 'Batman Must Die' plotline. The story sees Dick Grayson and Damian Wayne confront Dr Hurt for a final showdown.

When Marvel announced that 'The Incredible Hulk' would be returning to television in the wake of Warner's plans to revive 'Wonder Woman' for the small screen, the knee jerk reaction was to chalk it up to nostalgia programming. We've already seen 'Battlestar Galactica,' 'The Bionic Woman,' and 'Knight Rider' revived for TV; these moves just looked like more of that. However, a deeper look at Marvel's plans reveals that this isn't a retro cash-in, but part of a bigger push to establish their brand on television with the same success they've had on film.
