COMICS STOLEN in Calgary @alphacomics
Thieves broke into Alpha Comics in Calgary, Alberta, early Thursday, and took more than 500 comic books and trade paperbacks, stuffing them in a garbage bag.
Although no high-value comics were stolen, owner Chris Humphries told CTV Calgary the price for that many titles adds up, amounting to a loss of several thousand dollars.
“There was some really cool comics that got stolen, that were written and created by people who are trying to make comics better,” he said. “The dollar value of the individual comics is not very high, actually I sell comics in this store here at the suggested U.S. retail price, so per comic it’s not very expensive, but they took a lot.”
Humphries has posted a list of the stolen titles
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Reboot?!?!
Rumor has it that Fox is gearing up to give Alan Moore‘s League of Extraordinary Gentlemen another go at the big screen.
Fox has brought on Ira Napoliello and Matt Reilly (who are they?) to oversee the remake.

Comics at the Zoo
http://comicbookliteracy.blogspot.ca/2015/05/comic-sighting-at-dallas-zoo.html
A recent trip to the Dallas Zoo led to a discovery of comics being used for educational purposes. Inside the Insect House you'll find any number of creepy crawlies as well as this collection of insect inspired comic books:Spider-Man, the Tick, Blue Beetle and even Ambush Bug are represented. I'm not entirely sure of the educational merit of the display but anything that promotes comics to kids is a good thing.

The Man Who Killed Batman (or at least the franchise)
Clooney went on to apologize for his portrayal of the Dark Knight once again, and even admitted that he thought he destroyed the Batman franchise (he kind of did!). He then told a hilarious story about working on Batman & Robin, and Joel Schumacher’s directing style.
