Kevin Conroy’s Batman in CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS
Everyone has a favorite Batman. For some it’s Michael Keaton. Other it’s
Christian Bale, or even Adam West. But for a whole generation who grew
up with Batman: The Animated Series, the definitive Dark Knight will always be Kevin Conroy. The classically trained actor provided the perfect voice
for the Batman for many years. Not only in the seminal 1992 Fox Kids
cartoon, but also in several other series and animated movies over the
past quarter century. And now, thanks to the CW Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event, he’ll finally portray the Batman for the very first time in live-action.

Should Jason Todd Die? Again?
Jason Todd might be dead (again), and fans are being asked whether he should be (... again). This week’s episode of DC Universe’s Titans ended with a cliffhanger, as the superhero soap opera is wont to do. Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) and Starfire (Anna Diop) were unable to stop the assassin Deathstroke (Esai Morales) from dropping Jason Todd (Curran Walters) off of a building. The young Robin plummeted and the show cut to black, leaving fans in the lurch for a week. But in the meanwhile, DC Universe’s forums have something for them to do: Vote on whether Jason should live or die.“Will he live or will Jason Todd die?” says the poll description. “Take the poll below to let your voice be heard! This isn’t the first time that Jason’s fate was left to the whims of others; will history repeat itself or will he live to mouth off another day?”The description refers to the 1988 Batman story arc A Death in the Family, in which the second issue ended with the potential death of Jason Todd, the second Robin. Readers were offered the opportunity to call a 1-900 number and vote on whether he should survive.

Comic shop allows kids to learn, create, sell own comics
Kids accustomed to marveling at their favorite comics can now be the creators of their own superheroes at Loot Comic Shop in Brooklyn.
Founder Joe Einhorn, the brainchild of this idea, wanted to form a space where children could be introduced to the world of comics.
"We were nostalgic for a time when you used to be able to go down the block and buy a comic at the bodega for like a couple bucks," said Marisol Reed, manager of Loot Comic Shop.
With a library of over 3,000 comics that can be either bought or borrowed, the Carroll Gardens shop allows enthusiasts to gain inspiration by reading and creating their own comic books.
Kids are able to borrow comics one at a time for $30 a month or buy a comic for $5. By reading and reviewing or selling their own comics -- in which they keep 90 percent of their sales -- the kids can earn their own credit, hence the name Loot.

The Most Influential Comic Books
Of course, there's a couple Batman comics on this list, including the famous Detective #27.
Check it out.
The first appearance of Batman delivered an edgy, dark character with a more ominous yin to Superman's yang. Batman helped usher in a more adult approach to comics, one closer to the pulp books and radio shows popular at the time. While the Caped Crusader would occasionally become campy, the shadowy character generally stayed true to Bob Kane's original interpretation.

R.I.P. Rutger Hauer
Rutger Oelsen Hauer “Rutger Hauer”
(23 January 1944 – 19 July 2019) was a Dutch actor, writer, and environmentalist. He acted in both Dutch and English-language TV series and films.
Born in 1944 in Breukelen, Hauer served a short stint as a medic in the army before finishing his training as an actor. Verhoeven cast him in his first significant screen role in the 1969 TV series Floris, before giving him a role in his 1973 feature Turkish Delight. After completing a number of films for Verhoeven, Hauer gained attention in Hollywood playing a brutal terrorist in the 1981 Sylvester Stallone picture Nighthawks.
Blade Runner, though a commercial flop on its release, swiftly became a much-admired cult film, and Hauer became a fixture in both Hollywood and European cinema. The Hitcher, in 1986, was another attention-grabbing role, and the lyrical 1989 Italian drama The Legend of the Holy Drinker won the Golden Lion at the Venice film festival.
2005 former CEO of Wayne Enterprises in "Batman Begins,"
In the 1990s Hauer became well known in the UK for series of commercials for Guinness beer.
Batman Producer Addresses Robert Pattinson Casting Backlash
Veteran Batman franchise producer Michael E. Uslan advises detractors upset with Robert Pattinson’s casting in The Batman to trust the vision of director Matt Reeves.
“My position is this: trust the filmmaker and give the filmmaker, and the filmmaker’s vision, the benefit of the doubt. Then wait ’til you see the movie,” Uslan said at Germany’s CCXP Cologne convention.
“And then once you see the movie, judge the hell out of it. But I think that’s really the formula going forward. I couldn’t be happier, I couldn’t be more enthused, as a Batman fan, that Matt Reeves is the filmmaker in charge and has selected Robert Pattinson to be his next Batman.”
Uslan shepherded Batman blockbusters headlined by big-name movie stars Michael Keaton, George Clooney, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck — but the latest actor donning the cape and cowl of the Dark Knight must always be the Robin to the real star.
“The star of the Batman movies is Bruce Wayne. Batman is the star. Batman is who everyone wants to see, along with the supervillains, so how does a filmmaker make the choice of which actor to cast? And I think the real key question for fans, and for all of us to focus on, is the filmmaker,” Uslan said.

"That was part of the problem," admitted Affleck candidly. "We worked on the script, I was trying to figure out how to crack it, and I was never happy enough with it where I thought it was worth going out and making it because I just didn't want to do a version that I wasn't really excited by, so I still don't know."

Batwoman gets CW pilot
The CW’s Batwoman project is going to the next level — and a big name from Game of Thrones is getting on board.
The network has given a pilot pickup order to Batwoman, starring Ruby Rose, who first appeared as the character in the network’s DC crossover event last month.
Emmy-winning director David Nutter will helm the pilot. Nutter is best known for his work on Thrones, where he helmed episodes such as “The Rains of Castamere” (a.k.a. The Red Wedding episode) and has multiple episodes coming up in the show’s final season. Nutter is also know around Hollywood as “the pilot whisperer” as he’s credited with directing numerous successful pilots that were eventually picked up to series. His pilot credits include the first episodes of The CW’s The Flash and Arrow, along with shows such as The Mentalist, Supernatural, Without a Trace, and Smallville.
