Funeral Director Uses Action Figures to Calm Clients

Ross Paperman says it's "very special" to be able to help people at a time of sorrow, at his family-run funeral home. The Montreal funeral director says he warns clients about his toy-filled office before they walk in.

Batman took heroic grip of Kevin Silva's imagination in 1966.
Silva turned 5 years old six days before ABC's live-action "Batman" TV series debuted on Jan. 12 that year.
A few weeks earlier, his family in Columbus, Ind., had received a 19-inch color TV for Christmas. What youngster could resist Batman's fire-flaring car and stylish bad-guy foes in that vivid format?
"It just burned a hole in the back of my head," said Silva, who's amassed nearly 1,600 pieces of Batman memorabilia during 45 years of collecting.

DC Animated 2012 Slate

At the 2011 San Diego Comic Con, four firms were officially announced to follow Batman: Year One. They are:
Justice League: Doom – this animated adaptation of Mark Waid’s JLA: Tower of Babel storyline was the last thing written by Dwayne McDuffie before his passing. The story should make for an awesome film – as it features Ra’s Al Ghul using methods devised by Batman to take down the Justice League.
Superman Versus The Elite – is another comic adaptation, this time of the popular Action Comics #775, written by Joe Kelly (collected in Superman: The Greatest Stories Ever Told, Vol. 1). Superman takes on a group of popular heroes that use violent means to solve problems. It’s an excellent story that shows how Superman can still be a hero in the grim and gritty age.
The Dark Knight Returns – The classic story by Frank Miller gets its long rumored animated adaptation, but in a surprise move, it will be split into two separate releases. That’s really a good thing, when you consider the scale and epic magnitude of the story. Featuring a futuristic Batman in a distopian, media heavy society fighting against a government controlled Superman – this story spawned numerous copy cats, created the prestige format comic boom and defined Batman for the next 20 years.
