With the knowledge that Batman Movie news is going to be sparse in the next few months (Nolan is making INCEPTION first) I've decided to start a Bat-vehicle categories. so many fans out there are making/customizing their own stuff. I want to show it off.

Monday humour

Those guys over at Warner Bros. have given the studio a little face lift with a great mural that represents almost 80 years of animation history.

The mural, updated for the first time in 15 years, was officially unveiled April 7 at a small fan gathering. The new mural takes advantage of the curved stage roof to recreate the classic Hall of Justice from the old Super Friends TV series, and features a pantheon of superheroes including Batman, Robin, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Starfire, Cyborg, Aquaman and Blue Beetle. Also hanging out around the edges of the hall are Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, Sylvester & Tweety, and Scooby-Doo.

Join the fight with Batman

Here is a VERY cool CGI video from YouTube. It shows Batman flying around Gotham fighting Joker, Catwoman, and Mr. Freeze! It's a-la-Burton. Cool. Blur Animation Studios created this CGI movie for Warner Bros to use in one of those "Virtual Ride" events at one of their Six Flags theme parks.

BATMAN vs. WATCHMEN

OK, not really verses......but
The Dark Knight is to movies, what Watchmen was/is to comics. Legitimization.
We all know by now that Dark Knight won 2 Academy Awards in February, including Best Supporting Actor for Heath Ledger. This represents the first time that a comic book movie has been awarded an Oscar. Comic book movies have always been main-stream, but only because of the fans. Now the critics are involved...giving the greatest "thumbs up" a picture can get.
The same was true for The Watchmen. When it was first published, it was the first graphic novel to appear on the New York Time's best seller list. Once again, the comic book genera is getting critical acclaim.
No longer are comic geeks crouching in shadows....we are out in the main stream making normal people fell uneasy and unworthy.
Why so serious?
