Hardest Part of Batman is Bruce Wayne

Kevin Smith, that jolly trenchcoat wearing sidekick to Jay, spoke with Variety recently while promoting his recent film Yoga Hosers. Kevin Smith is a hardcore Batman fan to say the least; he has made several references to the characters within his movie and even assaulted a mall while dressed as the Dark Knight. To take it one step further he even named his daughter Harley Quinn! Pretty hardcore, eh? So it is from that front that Kevin speaks about the character of the Caped Crusader. “The hardest thing to nail about Batman is Bruce Wayne, because that’s where you’ve got no mask and you’ve got to be a human being. But that dude is Bruce Wayne, so he’s born to play that role.” Who was he referring to? The Ben Affleck of course! Can I just introduce him with a ‘The’? Sure, why not!

Wayne of Gotham by Tracy Hickman

Interspersed with familiar Batman villains such as the Joker and Harley Quinn, Wayne of Gotham puts aside the action-packed panels of the comics and focuses on the Dark Knight as a dark detective. He's on the case when an evil force has gotten into people's minds, making them think and do things out of the ordinary. Wayne of Gotham provides a Bat-fix for fans who were left hungry for more after The Dark Knight Rises movie.

A Little Bat-history

In Batgirl issue 15, Batgirl Stephanie Brown ( who used to be The Spoiler) explained (and illustrated) Batman’s entire history to Oracle’s new protégées Wendy Harris. It’s a cute but accurate depiction of every major character in the Bat family.

Bruce Wayne SHOCKER : BATMAN goes Global

Bruce Wayne is officially taking his Batman business international.

After "dying" in Final Crisis and time-traveling his way back to the present in writer Grant Morrison's The Return of Bruce Wayne limited series, the millionaire-turned-superhero reveals himself to Gotham City at large as the financial backing of all things Caped Crusader in Batman and Robin No. 16, in comic shops today.
He also tells Gotham, "Batman's war against crime goes global tonight," a mission statement that will play out in Morrison's new Batman Incorporated series launching Nov. 17.
"It's a game-changer," says DC Comics editor in chief Bob Harras. "It does fundamentally alter the way Bruce Wayne presents himself to Gotham City.

Golfing wiith Bruce Wayne

Golfing With the Dark Knight (complete post here)

If Bruce Wayne had no desire to keep his crime-fighting identity as Batman a secret, he would probably tool around the golf course in this:

This stylish golf cart is modeled after The Tumbler-the vehicle that Bruce Wayne adapts into the Batmobile in Batman Begins and which met with a dramatic destruction at the hands of the Joker in The Dark Knight.

Complete with rocket booster, a stylized windshield and a spoiler, this tricked out ride would definitely turn the heads of golfers and comic book fans alike.  And they would hear it coming; the cart incorporates several sound effects from the movies.

Seen around the Warner Brothers' movie lot, this golf cart was originally thought to be owned by Christopher Nolan, the co-writer/director of the two wildly successful superhero flicks.  It was later discovered that it belongs to a huge fan of the caped crusader who happens to work on the lot.

While I couldn't find more specs on this little vehicle, remembering this scene from Batman Begins and wondering if the golf cart could do any of this stuff sparked my imagination:

Batman vs. Iron Man

The summer movie season is here. Many great blockbusters are heading our way. Some have already started (Iron Man, Indiana Jones) So lets take a look at 2 biggies and do some comparisons.
Lets face it. Iron Man is Marvel's answer to Batman.
Both are billionaire playboys. Iron Man's is really who he he is. Batman's is more of a persona. Both have no "super powers". Both have gadgets to assist them. Iron Man has his suit, Batman has the batarang and the Batmobile.
However, Batman debuted in 1937, Iron Man not until 1963. So...I can't help but think there was some "borrowing of ideas" here.....

Anyway, take a look at this little parody and enjoy the summer movie season!!!
