Benjamin Melniker has died
In cinema, Batman has always been subject to change.
Even amidst all that change, though, two names have been a constant with cinematic Batman: Michael Uslan and Benjamin Melniker. Going back to Tim Burton’s landmark 1989 Batman film, the duo’s names have been listed in some sort of producing role on pretty much every Batman film ever since. Sadly, Uslan announced on Facebook today that Melniker has died.
He was 104.

More sad news in the Batman Universe, earlier this week we lost a fan who embodied the spirit of Batman...HERE. Today we learn of the passing of the original Batgirl, Yvonne Craig. Although I never had the privilege to meet her, I did manage to get a autographed copy of her book From Ballet to the Batcave and Beyond. By all accounts, a wonderful lady lost.

Good Bye #Scarecrow

The voice behind the character in The Animated Series was none other than Henry Polic II. Mr. Polic took this character and redefined him, he actually made the scarecrow frightening with his portrayal having him speak with a deep and gritty British accent.
last Sunday night, August 11th, 2013, Henry Polic II passed after a long battle with cancer.

Inspiration for Lois Lane Dies
Joanne Siegel, the widow of Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel who served as the model for Lois Lane, has died, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She was 93.
Joanne (nee Carter) met Jerry as a teen in Cleveland in the 1930s after she placed an ad in a local paper offering to model. She soon became the inspiration for Superman's love interest, Lois Lane.
After Jerry and his co-creator, Joe Shuster, failed to sell Superman to newspaper syndicates, DC Comics bought the character. He made his first appearance in Action Comics No. 1 in 1938.
In 1948, Jerry divorced his wife, Bella, and wed Joanne.

Superhero Hype is sad to report the passing of D.C. Comics great Dick Giordano (1932 - 2010), who began working at the company in the late '60s as an editor, but whose popularity hit its stride when he inked Neal Adams' run of Batman and the classic Green Lantern/Green Arrow team-up series of the '70s. Giordano also inked the very first Marvel/DC inter-company crossover Superman vs. the Amazing Spider-Man in 1978 and inked Adams on the even more unconventional one-shot Superman vs. Muhammad Ali.
